Where does my beauty lie?
Is it with all the brushes and blushes that help to cover my flaws?
Or maybe in the episodes or fashion shows that fill my head with empty lies.
Could it be on the gram where exaggerated existences fill the air?
Or in the workplace, where I'm condemned because of the texture of my hair.
I do know that there's a saying: beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
However, I beg to differ.
Beauty is in the eye of the Creator.
His word reveals where my beauty resides.
It lifts me up.
It loudly resounds.
And it feels a void that once weighed me down.
I am beautiful and loved by Him.
My being was crafted in wonder and with intent.
It's through God that I'm able to view my beauty, the way it was meant.
My beauty is in the eye of the Creator
